The Cheapest Cars to Own

Apartment Experts San Marcos CardThe 10 Cheapest Cars to Own are reported on by Yahoo.com just in time for the rising gas prices the country is experiencing.  Looking for a cheaper, more fuel-efficient way to get from work or school to your San Marcos Apartment?  Check out cars such as number 1, the Nissan Versa, which costs $27,135 to own over 5 years.  The 5 year costs include the average transaction cost, including rebates, and fuel costs calculated at $3.36/gallon for regular gas and 15,000 miles a year of mixed city and highway driving.

Prefer a domestic model?  Head to a Ford dealership for the Ford Fiesta S 4-door, which comes in at number 3 on the list with a 5-year cost of $28,524.  The Fiesta is the only vehicle made by an American automaker on the list.  All cars on the list are compact cars, as they not only tend to be cheaper to buy, but also are generally more fuel-efficient.  Keep in mind that these are usually entry-level models, so extras such as an Automatic Transmission will most likely cost you.

Make sure to peruse the list so when you visit the pump this summer, you can fill your tank with a smile on your face and a few dollars left in your pocket!
