Security
The Texas Attorney General is a great site to use when you have legal questions about your apartment or lease. Your dwelling must be equipped with security devices such as window latches, keyed dead bolts
on exterior doors, sliding door pin locks and sliding door handle
latches or sliding door security bars, and door viewers. This should all be done at the owners expense, and if you do not have these you have the right to request them. They do note there are some exceptions, but do not define the specifics of those exceptions.
