When renting with a roommate, it is important to lay out the details so communication is kept open. The Austin Tenants' Council created a Renting Together form, which outlines important roles such as bill payment, moving out, combined property, etc. While this form is not required, it can be a great tool for keeping a roommate situation fair and equal.
